height: 411px;\">\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span style=\"font-family: 'arial black', sans-serif;\"><em>Women as Portrayed in Orientalist Painting<\/em> by Lynne Thornton<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">This impressive book comes in two sizes.\u00a0 In current print is this small pocket variety that I\u2019ve included in the link.\u00a0 There is also an out of print version in French, a hard-cover coffee-table book-sized edition that is very expensive on the collectors market.\u00a0 The pocket-sized edition contains all the same text and in a smaller and more affordable package.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>As the title indicates, the focus is on images of women and the various roles and scenes that painters choose.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I consider this book to be an essential read for anyone interested in a more feminist reading of Orientalist paintings.<\/p>\n<p>Buy this essential read on <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2kfHOqb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amazon<\/a>.<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 258px; This book presents a nice balanced approach to a discussion of Orientalist art.
