Over the summer of 2021, I took a deep dive into the French archives looking for primary source material about the dancers who performed the infamous Danse du Ventre at the Exposition Universelle de Paris 1889.\u00a0 <\/span>During this intensive period of research, I’ve unearthed new and fascinating information about how the dance was presented, marketed, where it took place, and who were the performers.<\/span><\/p>\n
