About Davina - Sewing and Design Services

Basic - One Costume - In the one costume package, you receive sketches of your costume design and a detailed explanation of the parts and pieces of the ensemble. Included is a list of ideas on how to expand and build your wardrobe, other design options that will be figure flattering and a list of resources, pattern suggestions and websites to visit to get more ideas.

Deluxe - Three Costume Wardrobe - This larger package includes sketches of three costumes complete with a piece-by-piece breakdown of each ensembles as well as hints and tips for mixing and matching parts and pieces. A handy booklet that will help you understand the value of body analysis and how to use the information to help you make or buy costumes that are the most flattering.

Troupe - Are you stumped by what to do for your next troupe ensemble? Does your group have a wide variety of heights, shapes and sizes and you want a design that will flatter them all? This internet consultation can provide you with some fresh ideas based on an analysis of the figures of your troupe and your style of dance. You will receive sketches and a detailed explanation of the parts and pieces of the ensemble and suggestions for how to make or buy the parts and pieces.

Specialty Services

Consultation - Design consultations can be one way to really improve an existing costume or guide you in the creation of your own custom costume. If you have a sketch, photograph or idea that you want to make a reality, and don’t know where to get started, Davina can help you set up a plan based on your design, your skills and your budget.

Custom Patternmaking and Adjustment - Have you got a costume you love, and want it copied into a pattern? Do you have a sketch and don’t know how to make it into a costume that will fit you perfectly? Davina is a highly skilled patternmaker who can draft or drape a pattern from your body, an existing costume or using measurements. If you know how to sew, but want to get it right, a custom pattern can help you achieve your goals.

Alterations and Repairs - Is that beautiful costume being shaken apart by your driving shimmies? Have you experienced a shift in your weight or body shape and need to have the costume altered? Did you acquire a vintage costume that needs to be refurbished and fit to your body? Davina has the blend of fitting know-how and skill at fine sewing and beading to either guide you in your own sewing project or conduct the needed repairs for you.
